 "Build It Up!"

     in 2011!

It’s a new year. And you know what that means. Time for a change. Time to clean out the closet, the garage and the storage shed. Time to change those eating habits and lose some weight. Time to get off the couch and start exercising. Time to cut up the credit cards and start saving. Get rid of extra pounds wasteful habits and extra stuff. It’s time to build up. Build up your body. Build up your bank account. Build up your life.

But probably the most important thing to change is your spiritual life. Your spiritual life is the most important aspect of life. And it is important to build it correctly. 1 Peter 2:1-5 says, “So get rid of all malicious behavior and deceit. Don't just pretend to be good! Be done with hypocrisy and jealousy and backstabbing. You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk, now that you have had a taste of the Lord's kindness. Come to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God's temple. He was rejected by the people, but he is precious to God who chose him. And now God is building you, as living stones, into his spiritual temple. What's more, you are God's holy priests, who offer the spiritual sacrifices that please him because of Jesus Christ.” New Living Translation

Our theme for this year is “IT’S TIME TO BUILD UP.” It is my hope that this year you will clean out the closet of your heart, eat regularly from God’s Word, get off your spiritual couch and develop a spiritual workout program, implement a plan to maximize your investment in the kingdom of God through giving of your money, gifts, talents and abilities and grow stronger in your love for God. It’s a new year. It’s time folks. IT’S TIME TO BUILD UP.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 3 "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up."
