Life Group Ministry Group Values
I think it is important for us to see some of the values that come from being a part of a life group. These are just a few of the things that can help us grow and mature in our relationship with Christ as well as with one another:
We want to create an atmosphere in which group members affirm, encourage and build up one another in Christ.
One of the benefits of small groups is that each member is available to each other. As we strive to meet the needs of our group, it will require the use of our time, attention, insights and sometimes our resources.
Prayer is so important in the life and health of each group. It will happen through times of praise, confession, asking and thanking. Prayer encourages us to be humble before God and one another!
Openness & Honesty
Openness within the group helps promote honesty and an ease of sharing feelings, struggles, joys and hurts. The desire to be honest helps to develop authentic relationships.
In authentic relationships, accountability is the voluntary submission to one another in a particular area of your life, for support, encouragement and help.
As a group, evangelism is being committed to expanding the community of believers through such things as sharing your faith, using the "open chair" to invite people into your group.
Having your group grow and eventually birth new groups so that they can live out the vision of seeing people connect in Christian community and grow in Christ.
